Dear Oregon City School District Families,
On Saturday evening, Feb. 16th, the school district was informed through our safety tip line and several other sources that a social media posting appeared to make a threat against Ogden Middle School. The specific anonymous message was, “…I’m gonna make this school pay up so if you wanna live don’t show up on Tuesday. [sic]” The threat was immediately reported to law enforcement and Principal Lisa Normand sent a message to Ogden staff and families to inform them and request help with any additional information.
Over the weekend this anonymous threat was thoroughly investigated by Oregon City Police and they determined that the threat doesn’t appear valid or specific. However, in the abundance of caution the investigation is still underway to identify the specific source, and we will keep our community informed. We will have additional School Resource Officers and staff present on Tuesday. It is our goal and that of Oregon City Police to have the school day be a routine day.
The safety of our students and staff is top priority. It’s important that we reinforce the many protocols in place to ensure schools are still safe environments. Our key safety and security measures include, but are not limited to:
As always, we are proud of the students and community members who immediately reported concerns to school personnel. If you ever need to report a safety threat, please immediately talk to a school staff member, call the police or use the tip line.
Our tip line is operated in cooperation with SafeOregon.com and accessible from school and district websites. The tip line is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For emergencies, always call 911. Promptly sharing information with school staff, the police or the tip line is how we all help keep our school and community safe.

A dental screening is a quick look inside your child’s mouth to check the overall health of their teeth.
