After School Restorative Workshop
ASRW (aka After School Detention) is an after school workshop where students have an opportunity to learn how to improve their behavior and to make things right when they go wrong. Workshops are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00pm. Transportation home is provided on the activity bus.
Students assigned to an After School Restorative Workshop (ASRW) will work with Mrs. Poppen or Mr. Mardon and discuss why they are there, how to avoid returning to ASRW and how to make better choices in the future, they will do community service, homework and learn behavior skills.
Mr. Kates and I could assign students to ASRW for three minor referrals, a major referral, and any referral due to behavior with a guest teacher or speaker. We have high expectations for our students at Ogden, especially when we have guest teachers (substitutes) and guest speakers. Students that display disruptive, disrespectful, rude and non compliant behaviors when there is a guest teacher or speaker in their classroom will be issued a major and will be assigned to an ASRW.
Students that don’t attend their assigned ASRW could receive a ½ day of in house detention. Of course, we understand that there may be situations where a student cannot attend on the assigned afternoon, we will work with parents to find an alternate date.
